Maybe you'll understand me better...

after you experience these "Family Photos".  Seriously.  this is my family.  My mom & my dad & my sister (2 yrs. younger).  We were all together over New Year's 2012 at my cousin's Wedding in Massachusetts, so I decided to turn the camera on them!  and allow my Father to turn the lens on me (in a temporary lapse of judgement)

Dru turns Two!

I recently attended his second birthday party and snapped some pics.  It was so much fun and amazing homemade food and even a fancy birthday cake for the little man!

I recently attended a house concert on the west side of Chicago.  It was SUPER cool!!!  seriously.  if I ever have a house big enough...I'm going to totally start one of these gatherings.

It FINALLY snowed!!!

yes.  Mother Nature has finally decided that it is, in fact, Winter Time.  and a little under 1 foot in 9 days Chicago was blessed with.
The first heavy snow was just HEAVY & gross.  We didn't play in that snow too much.  However, we recently got walloped on a Friday afternoon, and this was the awesome (and easy to shovel!) light stuff.  My dog LOVES this kind of snow.  Yet, he still doesn't understand WHY he gets so cold running around in it.  (He is only 10 lbs...)
I put him in a sweater and threw him in the backyard.  Grouchy dog faces and shivers to follow:

so my BFF here in Chicago said she wanted some Family Photos.  Obviously I said SURE!  except these photos came out WAAAAAYYYYYY better than what I was expected when I saw her Christmas tree up on a table and she said that she wanted their pics to be in front of the tree...  :-)

The ever-exciting work party...

actually, this party definitely had much more potential to BE exciting than most "work parties"... I didn't stay late enough to really find out (dang day job on Monday morning...).  This was my husband's work party. And by work party I mean, all past and present members of his cover band were there; significant others sometimes in tow.
I found this great piece of lens extender from a Year 2000 point and shoot that another band member had there and decided to PLAY!!  because doesn't everyone pick up a random piece of equipment and say "wow! I could shoot backwards through this!"...  Anyways - I'll be purchasing my own version of this lens extender to use in the same ass-backwards manor on some Fine Art projects I have coming up over the Winter  :-)

Winter Wedding!!!

1 week before X-Mas I was down in NorthEast Indianapolis, IN and I ended up photographing this AMAZING Wedding.  It was held at the Community Life Center and it was just a gorgeous venue.  With rooms to get ready in up above, a courtyard (for summer) and a rotunda (for winter) for the Ceremony, and a Banquet Room with a full kitchen for the reception - this venue has it ALL!   It has a very pretty bell tower as well (slightly narrower than a photographer's dream...but we made it work)
I had such a good time and so did everyone else!

yes...I realize this a day late and dime short...but whatever.  You still get to see my ADORABLE dog, Mullet!
Each year my husband & I send out those ever-cheesy photo Holiday cards from the local CVS - however, we've decided that if we're going to force an unsolicited image upon friends and family, it's going to at least be ridiculously cute!  Hence why we started dressing up our 10 lb. Pekingese mix...
Yea...he pretty much hates us for it....
