The Golden Hour

I think I finally know and understand what the "Golden Hour" is in the photography world and WHY everyone loves it soooo much.

I recently did a Maternity Session for one of my clients.  We moved the time from 6pm to 5pm and WOW!  I am so happy that we did!!!  We hit the 31st St. Beach in Chicago for a good mix of urban and nature shots (and I think this may become my newest go-to venue for City shots!) The weather was perfect, there was a bit of a breeze, I mean - it was GORGEOUS!

It's always great to catch up with past clients and Rosie is no exception.  It was so great to see her again and I seriously can't wait until her little bundle of joy (a girl!) is born in December!  There will be newborn pictures for sure!!!

Santa Baby!

literally!
This is Baby J.  I photographed him once in the Fall and then again recently, for his 3 month pictures.  BOY has he GROWN!  He's almost rolling over on his own and is starting to smile (with his tongue out).  His mom had an amazing little baby Santa outfit for him and we went town!
Towards the end of the session, we even got his Big Brother involved a bit!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2012!!!

Cuteness ALERT!

The ONLY thing that I want to say about this session is WOW.
Little Mollie is 1 month old in this session.  We did the session on her due date - she graced us all with her presence a month early (and has had no complications!!  She's just TINY!)  It was a Holiday-themed bunch of ridiculous CUTENESS!

V.I.P. & some STINGRAYS!!!!

I recently traveled back to my home state of Massachusetts for this absolutely STUNNING Wedding.
The Ceremony was held in the fairly exclusive MIT Chapel { you can only rent it out for events/Weddings if you are a student or an employee - so if you know someone who knows someone...}  It's a GORGEOUS non-denominational Chapel that is right in the center of the MIT campus in Boston, MA.  Easily accessible by public transit, the inside of the chapel is rounded with exquisite, modern details at the alter.  (see amazing photos of it below!)
For the reception, the Bride & Groom continued with the WOW-factor and held their party at the New England Aquarium!  I mean...seriously.  who DOESN'T want to be able to pet stingrays during cocktail hour??  c'mon.  (I petted a few myself during the hour and almost ruined my camera a few times forgetting my hand was sopping wet...)
After cocktail hour we all headed up into the small cafe area that serves the public during the day.  Everything had been cleared out and fancy tables and chairs had been brought in.  A dancefloor had been formed and the DJ set up.  After an AMAZING delicious meal, the bar opened and it was PARTYTIME!!!!!  (even though I've left out some of the MOST embarrassing photos here, ie: underwear, ect... you'll still get the sense of things I think...)
