{ Maurya & Sharanya ~ Engaged }

and this was no typical Engagement.  It was a Traditional Indian Engagement Ceremony.  and it was in a VERY tiny basement room in Carmel, IN.
I had never done an Indian Engagement Ceremony and I LOVED IT!  The entire thing was basically in another language, but it didn't matter, it was still beautiful!  :-)  So many smiles and little intimate moments, all of it was just amazing.
He lives in California and she lives outside of Indianapolis and thus parted ways after the Engagement was finished.  They will be getting married at some point next year (date TBA...)  A
After the traditional ceremony was over, the couple changed into their new outfits given as gifts from the parents and we headed outside to take some portraits and couples photos really quick - just as a mini session type of thing, so they had some more formal photos along with the ceremony photos.
Everyone sat down to an outstanding Indian buffet of catered food and chatted into the afternoon.  Just a BEAUTIFUL day & experience.  I felt so fortunate to be a part of this big day!

You've seen them before!  {and hopefully you'll see them again...}
It's Baby Mollie and Family!!!!  She's 6 months old now and is almost sitting on her own....  we were able to prop her upright  ;-)
I met Mollie, Mom, Dad, and pup - Charles/Charlie in a park about 1/2 block from their place in Chicago on a sunny, warm early May evening.  WOW!  What light and beautiful colors we got!  I was super excited and so was everyone else.  It was great to see everyone again and to get some really nice shots out of the deal too!

side note:  my jeans decided to quit on my half way through the session!  :-/  A drawback of having a favorite pair you wear all the time and then going up and down and all over the ground...  There aren't any photos, but just wanted to make note of this "special occasion", as it was the first time this has happened to me on a shoot (and I'm sure NOT the last...)

{ Heidi - Baptized }

3 months old and time to get Baptized!
Little Heidi did great for her big day out in the Church.  We did a few getting ready photos and it was so awesome, it was almost like a mini Wedding!  tiny white dress, a pink after-party dress, tiny white shoes, even a tiny white headband and socks with ruffles!!!!
I think Heidi napped through most of the service, which is fine, she is only 3 months old after all.  :-)
